Hyperwave IS/6 Administration

This course takes a detailed look at server architecture, focussing on the "new core" technology, user administration, system installation and configuration and all other operation-related tasks.

The course aims to enable you to maintain and monitor the system, to analyze errors independently, and to describe them accurately so that they can be corrected as soon as possible. The log file system is therefore explained at a general level and for individual server processes. In the exercises, you will practice how to generate the relevant, detailed log files for selected tasks. Based on practical examples, typical solutions are explained and compared for different areas. The course also looks at the range of tools available for troubleshooting errors you encounter in your day-to-day work.

Other focuses include scaling and load distribution. As Hyperwave applications place different requirements on the system configuration, the server can be used to customize and optimize the system to suit individual needs. User numbers, user profiles, special functional requirements, interfaces that are frequently load-intensive, peak loads, datasets and structures, graphic distribution, and requirements for availability often differ dramatically.

The content is presented and explained in a clear manner and know-how is consolidated in practical exercises. For the exercises, all participants have access to state-of-the art hardware and the trainer deals with each student's individual needs.
